The Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization is pleased to partner with the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) on New Opportunities for Coal Communities, a virtual event on Thursday, September 16 from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. ET. Please register for the event and plan to join us.

Attendees will experience a virtual tour of Matewan, WV – a community at the center of coal-impacted Appalachia – through videos of the community and its members and hear ideas and best practices from 10 ARC POWER partners from West Virginia and Kentucky on strengthening coal-impacted community workforce and economies.

Following this interactive discussion and virtual tour, ARC will announce its POWER Initiative award recipients.
