What the Inflation Reduction Act Means for Energy Communities Webinar Series – Part Two

April 28, 2023 from 2:00 pm3:00 pm EDT

The historic investments in the Inflation Reduction Act present a multitude of opportunities to revitalize energy communities, diversify workforces and support energy workers across the country. As more investments become available, it’s crucial for energy communities to understand which programs they are eligible and the benefits of those programs.

The Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization (Energy Communities IWG) is hosting a two-part webinar series highlighting Inflation Reduction Act programs that benefit energy communities. The series provides energy communities with the information they need to better understand how they can benefit from specific programs within the Inflation Reduction Act.

Key programs discussed in the second webinar include:

  • Information on the Enhanced Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (48C).
  • Bonus tax credits for energy communities under the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s $3 billion environmental justice grant program for community-based organizations and their partners.
  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green House Gas Reduction Fund supporting low-income and disadvantaged communities.
