§ 48C Regional Events

Join the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) and Energy Communities IWG a series of regional events bringing together federal officials, private sector leaders and local communities to discuss the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (§48C) Program.

The Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (§48C) program was established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The program was expanded with a $10 billion investment under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to fund projects that achieve the following:

  • expand clean energy manufacturing and recycling
  • expand critical materials processing and refining
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions at industrial facilities

The  §48C program will provide an investment tax credit of up to 30% of qualified investments for certified projects that meet prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. The program also sets aside 40% of funds for projects in designated energy communities – communities with closed coal plants or mines – to encourage job creation and economic growth in all pockets of America.

Regional events will include:

  • An overview of the §48C program.
  • Discussion of the advantages of investing in rural communities.
  • Networking with federal officials, community leaders, and clean energy manufacturing professionals.

The event will be focused on the Inflation Reduction Act’s $10 billion Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (48C) Program. These events will share publicly available information. All information shared at the events will be made available to non-attendees.

The event is open to the public and will include project developers, asset owners, financiers, local/state/federal officials, community leaders, non-governmental organizations, and worker organizations.
