Overview

This program is provided through the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary – Office of Transportation Policy. It is a competitive grant program that funds planning and capital investments in multimodal surface transportation infrastructure that will have a significant local or regional impact. Eligible recipients includes States, Counties, Cities, Tribes, Port Authorities, Public Transportation Agencies.

For projects located in urban areas, the minimum award is $5 million. Please note that the minimum total project cost for a project located in an urban area must be $6.25 million to meet match requirements. For projects located in rural areas, the minimum award is $1 million. The maximum award for all projects is $25 million. Not more than $225 million can be awarded to a single State.
