Overview
The purpose of READY Appalachia: A Community Capacity-Building Initiative is to assist Appalachian communities—particularly those that are underserved—identify, plan, and implement transformational and long-needed projects utilizing the wide range of newly available federal funding sources. It also aims to make the key community pillars, upon which ARC relies to implement its vision, more sustainable and effective over time. One pillar is the Region’s LDDs. They are the primary organizations working in regional economic development in rural communities. The purpose of the READY LDDs portion of READY Appalachia is to strengthen the ability of Appalachia’s LDDs to help constituent communities design and implement truly impactful projects utilizing federal and other types of funds.
