Overview
This FOA will develop technologies enabling clean hydrogen production, transport, storage, and use in the energy sector, including electricity, heat, transportation, and industrial use. The development of these technologies supports the ambitious goals for a carbon-neutral economy by 2050, a carbon-neutral power sector by 2035, and a 50% reduction from 2005 levels in economy-wide net GHG pollution by 2030.
This FOA adds three new areas of interest to the previously released FOA:
- AOI 18: Maturation of Technologies for Gasification-Based Clean Hydrogen Systems
- AOI 18a: Oxygen-Generating Component/Air Separation Unit
- AOI 18b: Feedstock Delivery Component
- AOI 19: Advanced Sensors to Enable Gasification to Provide Clean Hydrogen Meeting Hydrogen Shot Cost Parameters
- AOI 20: Digital Twins for Advanced Monitoring, Detection, and Security for Integrated Hydrogen-Based Systems with Carbon Capture
