The Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization (Energy Communities IWG) today announced that the deadline for public comment will be extended by 30 days. The portal will remain open until September 8, 2022.
The public comment portal seeks input from the public on the challenges facing energy communities, measures to address those needs, and recommendations for the federal government to consider.
Stakeholders are encouraged to share their views, including energy workers (particularly those related to coal, oil and gas), elected officials, Tribal representatives, community development organizations, labor unions, the private sector, academic institutions, philanthropic interests and more. Information collected will help the group prioritize and plan assistance to energy communities.
Comments can be submitted at https://energycommunities.gov/comment/ and will be available for public viewing and inspection.
